You are invited to the State of the City Luncheon presented by the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau in partnership with the City of Walnut Creek, with support from AT&TF&M Bank, and John Muir Health.
Mayor of Walnut Creek Loella Haskew  and James Fidelibus, Chair of the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau will review the current status of Walnut Creek and discuss plans for the coming year. This annual luncheon offers a unique networking opportunity and is always a sell-out.

What a Dump
This year's Leadership Contra Costasm class met earlier this month for an in-depth, eye-opening session on the environment. The day included guest speakers addressing climate change, plastic crisis, and tours of the Delta Diablo and Mt. Diablo Recycling Facility.

Support the Initiative

RecycleSmart has contracted with SCS Engineers, Inc. to conduct a survey with the goal of implementing a voluntary 'Edible Food Recovery Pilot Program' for local businesses.
This voluntary program is to help prepare businesses for upcoming regulatory changes brought in by Senate Bill 1383, which will impose food waste reduction requirements on businesses. SCS Engineers and RecycleSmart are looking for leaders in the business community to help get this program off the ground, and are seeking input from any businesses that would like to join in this effort. For more information,   click here.
Available to Serve
If you're interested in serving our community, there are a number of opportunities available to serve on commissions in Walnut Creek.  Applications are being accepted for vacancies on the Design Review Commission; Planning Commission; Board of Appeals and for a Walnut Creek representative on the Central Contra Costa Transit Authority Advisory Committee. Applications will be taken through January 24, 2020.
