Science Garden Update

At the heart of all gardening is a hope for the future and, although we are not together at school, work on the Walt Disney Science Garden continues. We recently installed all new irrigation and outlined the design by installing bender board that defines the space. Thank you to Helsen Phelps Construction Co. and Bob Tornberg for donating the supplies to get this step done. And many thanks to the generous Walt Disney community for your financial support through Online Registration. If you’d like to donate, help, or just find out more, please contact Laura & Lindsey, PTA Garden co-chairs or check out our webpage

The Run for Education is Going Virtual in 2020!
Registration Is Now Open!

We won't let COVID19 stop us from continuing the 36-year tradition of the Run for Education! Join us as we host the first VIRTUAL Run for Education 2020!

When: October 11, 2020

Three events this year:
  1. Mini Run – For our youngest athletes – Age 6 and younger – Walk or Run 1K (or more). $25
  2. Friendship Run – For our special needs athletes – Roll, Run or Walk 1K (or more). $25
  3. Virtual Run – For anybody. Walk or Run any distance! $25

Why are we doing a Virtual Run?
The Run for Education helps schools with the potential budget shortfalls that we are facing this year.

  • Schools earn 40% of the net registration fees from every participant that chooses your school
  • Fundraising pages: 70% of fundraising revenue will be returned to the individual school that generated the revenue

Annual Fund Drive
The Annual Fund Drive Needs Your Help!

Hello Disney Families!

The Annual Fund Drive is getting closer to goal, but we are still WAY BEHIND, especially compared to last year. We understand things are more challenging this year, so while we are asking for $450 per student, really any amount will help! Sadly, many of the in-person events that helped raise these funds last year cannot take place, yet our kids need as much if not more support!

As a reminder, we fill in the gaps for what the district does not fund. Some of the services and programs DESEF funds are:

  • Paraprofessionals (who help teachers and students)
  • TK/Kindergarten music program
  • Dragon Academy (academic intervention)
  • Rainbow Room (social and emotional learning)
  • STEM learning
  • Science Garden & more

Without this money, we will have to make hard choices about which programs we must cut.

Tax-deductible donations can be made through our Online Store, or by check made out to DESEF mailed to DESEF, P.O. BOX 1981, San Ramon, CA 94583.

A big thanks to those who have already donated. Thank you for supporting our school!

Matching Funds
Matching Funds Can Help DESEF Reach Its Goal!

Hello Disney Families,

Last year, the Disney Elementary School Education Foundation (DESEF) received more than $21,000 in corporate matching funds. Now, more than ever, to achieve our mission, we depend on the generous support of our community.

Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match charitable contributions or volunteer hours made by their employees.
If you are not aware your company offers a matching program, you may simply contact your human resource department or search your company’s website for community giving.

The San Ramon Valley Education Foundation (SRVEF) also has a database of some companies that offer matching funds: http://www.srvef.org/Donate/MatchingGifts.aspx.

DESEF is a 501(c)(3) and is the primary fundraising organization at Walt Disney Elementary School (Tax ID# 20-3046825). For more information, please visit the WD DESEF Site.

We are so grateful for your generosity and hope you take great pride in the impact your gift makes for Walt Disney Elementary School.
