Dear Parent/Guardian,

It is my pleasure to announce that Wamogo has developed our first School Improvement Plan. To begin the school year in August, all staff participated in the development of our school improvement plan.  This will be an annual process to ensure that we are identifying areas where we can make the necessary adjustments to our practices to ensure that Wamogo is on track to best serve our students. The plan has four critical areas - curriculum, instruction, assessment, and positive climate. All four of these areas are crucial in order to ensure that student learning is optimized. Since I would like to include as many in this process as possible, I am offering parents and students an opportunity to volunteer to learn more about the plan and provide important feedback.  I would like to hold a school improvement plan review session on  Monday, October 2 from  4-5 p.m.  Please RSVP to Nikky Yarrish at if you would like to attend.

Additionally, Wamogo will be holding a high school assembly regarding the dangers of opiate addiction on October 4 from 8:30 - 10:30 a.m.   The assembly will consist of a presentation developed by the FBI and DEA.  In an effort to help educate students and young adults about the dangers of addiction, these organizations have produced a documentary called "Chasing the Dragons: The Life of an Opiate Addict."   The film features firsthand accounts of those that have abused opioids or whose children have abused opioids. To preview the video, please click here.
The film will be followed by a panel discussion of representatives from the US Attorney General's Office, FBI and DEA. While this as an important opportunity to educate our students we also recognize the sensitivity of this topic.
If you do NOT want your student to participate in the assembly, print and complete the parent opt-out form. Please return the form to the main office by Tuesday, October 3, 2017.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation with this important discussion and please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
