Hi Martina,

As we chase these last few weeks of summer we're already thinking ahead to cooler temps. Fall is the best time to plant grass on Cape Cod. The autumn season comes with a mix of warm soil and cool air, perfect for planting grass seed and allowing time for new grass roots to develop before winter sets in. It is also a good time to fertilize to build stronger, deeper roots for winter, resulting in a thicker, greener lawn next spring.

Today (8/24) at 4pm we're hosting our annual Fall Lawn Talk with HCG's organic lawn guru Jamie Dekes. In this free one hour presentation Jamie will explain how to employ best organic practices for your Cape Cod lawn. This talk will include soil structure, cultural practices, and fertilizer and lime applications. If you are looking to improve upon your lawn this talk is for you!

Summer isn't over yet though! We've still got several weeks of great beach and boating weather ahead - and that means terrific gardening weather too.

Need a little shade in your yard? All our shade trees are on sale beginning today (8/24) 40% off! Our fruit trees will continue on sale plus we've got lots of other clearance plants, trees, and shrubs to offer...stop in and find a bargain!

Our staff is knowledgeable and passionate about gardening. Bring us your questions, with pictures if you like. We'll help you be successful in your projects.
