John's tips for a smooth post-military transition:
  • His mentors told him to always work on his craft by staying informed and constantly reading books in his down time.
  • John leaned on his mentors for advice when he hit a wall on a project.
  • He was also advised to find something that he was truly passionate about and to work in that field. This made his transition easier. Within 3 months, he had successfully transitioned.
