Piedmont Triad Partnership
Penny serves as executive vice president of the PTP where she has worked for more than 25 years to connect and strengthen the economic development assets of the Triad region. She provides strategy and direction to the economic development, marketing/communications, and foreign trade zone programs and works with a broad range of public and private economic development allies and stakeholders to advance projects with region-wide impact.
Prior to PTP, Penny worked in local economic development in the Triad in research, marketing and business development.
With more than 25 years of experience in non-profit management and economic development, she is a frequent speaker on topics including international trade and workforce and economic development practices. She is past president of C2ER, the national association of professionals in community and economic development research, serves on the advisory board for the Master of Public Affairs program at UNCG and is a member of the Planning Committee for TEDxGreensboro.
Penny grew up in Winston-Salem, NC and has a B.A. in Political Science and American Studies and a Masters of Public Administration from UNC-Chapel Hill. She and her husband live in Greensboro, NC and have three grown children.
