Our “War Stories” series returns this Fall featuring the Legal Lion, Morgan Chu. Morgan served as the co-managing partner of Irell & Manella LLP for the maximum term of 1997-2003, and he is presently the chair of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. Morgan’s recent victories include a 9-0 U.S. Supreme Court win and a trial verdict of $2.2 billion. Chambers USA aptly described Mr. Chu as “beyond doubt the most gifted trial lawyer in the USA”, who delivers staggering results for clients. Morgan has been recognized as a Top Ten Trial Lawyer, The Decade’s Most Influential Trial Lawyer, and the Number One Super Lawyer in Southern California. In our upcoming program, Morgan will discuss some highlights of his legal career, including City of Hope v. Genentech, in which he obtained the largest damages verdict that was affirmed on appeal by a California courts, with over $565 million paid by the defendant. Morgan will also share practical tips and lessons for litigators.

Moderator Travis Anderson of Sheppard Mullin is an accomplished litigation partner in the Labor and Employment and Business Trial Practice Groups in the firm's San Diego (Del Mar) office. He is also the Editor of the firm’s Trade Secrets Law Blog: www.tradesecretslawblog.com. Travis handles complex business, trade secret and employment disputes. He has litigated numerous high stakes matters from inception through trial and arbitration for businesses, business owners, employers, executives and retailers.
