David Shuster is an Emmy award winning broadcast journalist who serves as an anchor and correspondent for the multi-platform channel “The Young Turks.” Shuster is best known for his work at NBC News and MSNBC where he hosted his own news shows and served as the primary backup host for “Countdown with Keith Olbermann” and “Hardball with Chris Matthews.” Shuster anchored the channel’s prime time coverage of breaking stories including politics, natural disasters, and the death of Michael Jackson.
 
As a field correspondent, Shuster reported for “NBC Nightly News” and “The Today Show.” His assignments included the Iraq war, the selection of a Pope, and Hurricane Katrina. Shuster was an evening news anchor for Al Jazeera America, where he guided the network’s political coverage. He subsequently served as the lead anchor and managing editor for i24News. 

David Shuster is a graduate of the University of Michigan. He lives in Connecticut with his wife – CBS News producer Kera Rennert, and their two children. He is a Camp Tel Yehudah alum (1982-84), was a madrich at CYJ Midwest (Michigan), was bogrim programmer for the Young Judaea Midwest Region (P'Neinu Artzah) in 1984, and attended Young Judaea Year Course from 1985-1986.
Jonathan Weiler received his PhD in political science from UNC Chapel Hill, where he is a professor in Global Studies.

He has written four books, including Human Rights in Russia: A Darker Side of Reform;  Authoritarianism and Polarization in American Politics (Cambridge University Press, 2009), co-authored with Marc Hetherington), which won the Philip Converse award from the American Political Science Association in 2016, in recognition of the book’s lasting impact on the field, and Prius or Pickup: How the Answers to Four Simple Questions Explain America’s Great Divide (2018), also co-authored with Marc Hetherington. 

He has appeared on CNN, Al Jazeera, the CBC and many other outlets and his work has been featured in the New York Times, Washington Post, the Guardian among other places.

Jonathan attended Camp Tel Yehudah from 1981-1983 as a chanich and member of the tzevet sherut and served as National Mazkir of YJ in 1982-83. He was a madrich at TY in 1986-87, and attended Young Judaea Year Course from 1983-1984.
