Effective July 1, e-scooters and e-bikes will not be allowed on MiWay buses or on the bike rack.
This change is due to safety concerns associated with the lithium-ion batteries that power these devices. There are currently no safety regulations in place governing the sale and use of lithium-ion batteries powering personally owned e-scooters or e-bikes.
Medical mobility devices will continue to be permitted on MiWay buses as they are subject to regulated maintenance, safety standards, and serve as essential tools.

Starting Tuesday, July 1, seniors ages 65 and older can ride MiWay for free with a PRESTO card set to the senior fare type. Running a red light is dangerous and illegal, and it continues to be a problem in Mississauga. We are reminding drivers to stop at red lights to prevent collisions. No one should lose their life on our roads.
Running a red is type of aggressive driving that can contribute to collisions. By law, you must stop at a red light before entering an intersection – that includes before making a right turn. When the light turns yellow, you should slow down to a stop unless it’s unsafe to do to.
Stay focused, avoid distractions and allow for plenty of time to reach your destination.
