Soccer fever is coming to town; the City will be hosting soccer watch parties at Mississauga Celebration Square (MCS). These plans reflect the City’s cultural diversity, strong community spirit and love of sports.

MCS is planning to broadcast 59 matches over 23 tournament days, planned around previously scheduled festivals and events. This includes all three Canada group stage games, the round of 32 and the final.

Residents and visitors can enjoy the beautiful game at family‑friendly public match screenings in a safe, welcoming environment for fans of all ages. The award-winning accessible MCS space also offers assistive listening devices available upon request.

From May to October, the City is hosting free, guided community bike rides in different neighbourhoods throughout the city. Residents can join a ride and get comfortable riding on different paths while meeting others in the community and staying active.

Bring your bike and helmet. If you don’t have one, consider renting one of the City’s shared e-bikes.

Whether you prefer to get your feet wet or go for a deep dive, Mississauga’s spray pads and pools are a great way to stay active and cool all summer long.

Mississauga has more than 30 spray pads across the city. Families can enjoy them through to September, weather permitting. Spray pads open daily at 9 a.m. and are unsupervised.

Spray pads are free to use and easy to visit. They are a safe and fun way to cool down on hot days. Use the online map to find a spray pad near you.

Calling all animal lovers! Join Mississauga Animal Services for their spring Adopt‑a‑thon. Adopt a new furry friend, like a dog or a cat, and get helpful services for the pet you already have. The City is hosting this event to help as many animals as possible find safe, loving homes and to connect residents with affordable services that make pet care easier.

From June 5 to 7, people who adopt a pet can enjoy a 50 per cent discount on most adoption fees and all new pet licences.

Current pet owners can take part too. If your pet is already licensed, you can get a 50 per cent discount on microchipping, get free, on‑site support from an expert dog trainer, and visit a vaccine clinic on Friday, June 5. If you are licensing your pet for the first time during the event, you will receive a 50 per cent discount.

Peel Regional Police has launched a new portal to accept general driving concerns from the public.

This portal will allow members of the public to report driving behaviours that pose a risk to public safety and where police enforcement may be required.

This program expands on our existing Road Watch program that allows members of the public to report specific dangerous or aggressive driving that pose a risk to public safety but are not emergencies.

Key Highlights between each program include:

Road Watch

• Dangerous and Aggressive Driving
• License Plate Number Required

Examples: Excessive speeding in residential areas, aggressive lane weaving, or running red lights.

New General Driving Concern Portal

• Observations of driving behaviour that pose a risk to public safety but are not emergencies.
• No license plate required
• City studies will need to be reviewed to validate and assess the reported concerns.

Examples: Roadways where police enforcement may be required for infractions such as speeding, failure to comply with stop signs, illegal U-turns, and other related traffic violations.

Increased awareness will help ensure residents know where to direct concerns and allow us to better identify trends and priority areas.
