Dear Resident:
This is a special edition to provide you with the most up to date information I have on the COVID-19 virus. Please read and visit the
Region of Peel Health site for details.
We made the following decisions based on advice from the Peel Medical Officer of Health. I urge you to avoid busy public places especially during the next few weeks, self isolate at home if you feel ill and contact your family doctor by phone if you feel ill. If you travel outside Canada please self isolate for 14 days in return, Schools are closed until April 5 so this covers March break vacations.
Consider helping a neighbour who may require help with daycare or shopping. Take advantage of closures to have your children play outdoors. Ride your bike, use the trials, visit playgrounds but keep social distance from others.
The next 3 weeks will be difficult for everyone so I ask for your patience and cooperation. The risk in Peel is low and these measures will hopefully prevent the virus from spreading. Remember to wash your hands. Information can change quickly so check the City website for ongoing information.
As always you can contact me for assistance on any city or region issue at pat.saito@mississauga,ca, by phone to 905-896-5900 at any time and my staff and I will be pleased to help you.
Pat
