2018 - 2019 WARD PTA EXECUTIVE POSITIONS
As this year comes to a close, we look to next year and the opportunity to build upon our successes and create new opportunities to improve our school.
The Ward PTA helps to organize wonderful school wide projects that provide vital funds to our school, teachers and students and also serves as a voice for the parents and children to the school and district.
We have some very important roles to fill and everyone in the school is encouraged to join.
President-Elect/Co-Presidents-Elect
- Manage and provide direction to the overall PTA organization alongside PTA president and prepares for President position the following year
Treasurer: A/P
- Manage the PTA payable accounts (issues checks, prepares and delivers financial reports at PTA meetings, pays taxes, works with accountant)
Treasurer: A/R
- Manage all PTA deposits from fundraising events (makes deposits, keeps track of incoming revenue)
Secretary
- Record Executive Board and PTA Meeting minutes

Have you heard of Christopher's Corner" yet?
We have started a section with special needs children's stories in our Ward School Library.
Great new books covering all different special needs such as Autism, ADHD, wheelchairs, Down syndrome, peanut allergies, diabetes, Alopecia, etc.
Come take a peek or let your children know about it.

It Takes a Village to Educate a Child (TAVTEC)
partners with the New Rochelle
YMCA
this summer to bring children S.T.E.A.M and more! TAVTEC's programs exist within the New Rochelle School buildings (including Ward).
This camp is like NO OTHER CAMP in the area
! TAVTEC will continue to provide great social and leadership skills in an INCLUSIVE environment, however, we have wrapped financial literacy, entrepreneurship and goal setting around the amazing S.T.E.A.M curriculum.
The camp will practice math and ELA review throughout the week (taught by a certified teacher). We are proud to announce that our classes are led by professionals in a fun, engaging environment!

The Mobile Shredder is Coming to New Rochelle
Residents can bring up to 4 file-size (10"x12"x15") boxes of confidential papers per household to the City of New Rochelle from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for shredding.
