Chabot's Field of Dreams Raises $40,000!
|
|
The Friends of Chabot College (FCC) held its 7th Annual Gala on Saturday, October 9th, 2021 at the newly named Steve Friend Stadium on the Chabot campus. It was a sold-out event with over 100 district, college, business and community leaders in attendance. We had perfect weather to show off our new Steve Friend Stadium. Many thanks to the District leaders who also made it out to show support. Preliminary estimates show that we raised a little under $40,000!
In addition, we honored leaders who have made sustaining contributions to Chabot College:
- Mr. Jeff Dixon -Sprinkler Fitters
- Ms. Berty Nebenzahl – Beloved Benefactor
-
Mr. Dale Wagoner - Vice President of Administrative Services
Of special note, through Ms. Nebenzahl's bequest, the FCC was able to meet its 5-year HSI endowment match commitment. We have now met our goal of establishing the foundation's first HSI endowment for $220,000 that will fund student scholarships for years to come - all this in the midst of the pandemic!! Sincere thanks to the FCC Board of Directors for dedicating their efforts these past 5 years to meeting this goal!
Deepest thanks go to:·
- Obray Van Buren, Friends of Chabot College Fundraising Chair
-
Planning Committee: Chabot College Athletics Division Dean Kevin Kramer; Coach Will Tavis; Athletic Director, Jeff Drouin; Nicole Albrecht; Christine Herrera; Angela Castellanos; and Josephine Calderon
- Centerpieces by Christine Herrera, Office of the President
- Donated photography services by Michael Craig
- Chabot Baseball Team student athlete volunteers
- Graphic Design and Printing by Chabot College Reprographics team Craig Shira and Sarah Flores
- Pacific Dining Catering Services
- CLPCCD Maintenance & Operations
And, thank you to all those who attended, donated auction items, made contributions, or lent words of support. Every little bit helps! We are already looking forward to next year!
