January, 2022

Dear {First Name},
It’s hard to believe that we have put the lid on 2021 and are already charging into 2022! We thought this year would start out a little more upbeat. And still, Global Grandmothers has only praise and gratitude for our very generous donors. Your hearts went out to children in need all over the world and you demonstrated your generosity even more than ever. They thank you and we thank you. We are still receiving donations from 2021. You are providing for the needs of children worldwide. We are very grateful for your generous acts of kindness.
In 2021 we only held one event, a virtual event, to benefit children in Nepal who are supported by Nepal Youth Foundation. I had the honor of interviewing Olga Murray, Nepal Youth Foundation’s inspiring founder, on zoom with a message from Som Paneru direct from Nepal. Your response was phenomenal. We were honored to present your donations to NYF. Thank you for your support of high quality non-profits.
We enter 2022, yet another year when children will be seriously needing support. We know that we all will be continuing to support organizations that provide education, health, including mental health, shelter, safety and freedom. There is nothing more important that we can do. I know we will all continue to work to support children.

January’s Global Grandmothers Choice is Nurse-Family Partnership.
If you prefer, you can mail a check to Global Grandmothers, P.O. Box 471, San Mateo, CA 94401. Make checks payable to Global Grandmothers and write the non-profit recipient in the memo line.
No doubt you are familiar with the excellent program that NFP offers: individualized home visits- or by video when COVID is an issue - for first time mothers and their babies provided by an RN. But did you know that Nurse-Family Partnership just won phase 1 of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Hypertension Innovator Award Competition? One in ten women suffer from hypertension during pregnancy, putting themselves and their baby at risk. Nurse-Family Partnership is working with expectant mothers to lower that risk. And could there be a better time to address this problem than right now?
May 2022 be a year of better health worldwide. Let’s hope that we can end this pandemic and turn COVID into NO-VID this year. That would make for a happy new year!
Gratefully, respectfully and hopefully,

Mary Bevernick,
Global Grandmothers President
