| | |
Dear CIE Partner,
Sending you cheerful wishes and warm season's greetings! As we reflect on the year, we want to express our sincere gratitude to the community of partners who make our work possible.
This holiday season, we are especially thankful for your partnership and engagement. Thank you for participating in conversations, attending CIE Partner gatherings, contributing your insights during our community voice affinity groups, and, most importantly, for being part of the CIE Movement.
Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or joined us recently, we truly value your presence in our community and the role you play in building stronger, healthier connections.
In December, the 211/CIE San Diego support team will be taking time to slow down, reset, and prepare for next year.
Our office will be closed on the following dates:
- December 24, 2025
- December 25, 2025
- December 31, 2025
- January 1, 2026
During this period, we encourage you to visit the CIE San Diego website to access online training and guides, including password troubleshooting and other resources. We look forward to resuming a smooth and seamless support experience when we return.
We hope this holiday season allows you to rest, reset, and renew your mind, body, and spirit. May the year ahead bring continued collaboration, resilience, and shared progress in our efforts toward a safe and thriving community.
With gratitude and warm wishes,
The 211/CIE San Diego Team

Informational Workshop: Bringing Services to Oceanside
211 San Diego & Community Information Exchange Partners came together to host an Informational Workshop at the Lived Experiences Community Center located in Oceanside, CA!
We met with community members and had the opportunity to share out various access points to resources & services available within the County of San Diego. Many resources were shared, including how clients & community members can gain further access to CalFresh & Medi-Cal via the 211 San Diego Enrollment Team.
North County Residents also learned that they could visit any TrueCare Clinic to receive access to wellness services & specialty care. All patients will be met with compassionate care regardless of insurance status. Our partners at San Diego Gas & Electric (SDGE) also shared how clients may qualify for discounted programs like the Medical Baseline Allowance Program & CARE Program, which provide discounted rates for residents’ energy bill. Family Health Centers of San Diego PACE was also on hand to share more about the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly which offers programs & services like; dental, in-home care, and mental health services.
We would like to sincerely thank Lived Experiences for allowing us to co-host this opportunity in partnership with their organization. It was truly a privilege to host dialogue and answer important questions in real-time. We witnessed our partners accepting applications on the spot and ensuring clients that there would be follow-ups to ensure connectivity to resources & services.
Concluding the workshop, we also had the wonderful opportunity to “break bread” and connect with our clients & community members over a shared meal. Workshop attendees visiting the L.E. Community Center also left with food, diapers, informational flyers, and knowing that our partners genuinely care for their well-being.
We also want to thank all partners in attendance, and we look forward to partnering in more community efforts to further elevate what is available in San Diego!

Important Medi-Cal Updates Ahead:
What Members Need to Know
| | |
Major updates are coming to Medi-Cal that may impact seniors, people with disabilities, and undocumented adults.
Most members will keep their current coverage and continue to have access to medical, dental, vision, mental health, and preventive care services—including doctor visits, prescriptions, hospital stays, and more to support your overall health.
However, some groups will see changes starting in 2026 and 2027.
Changes include:
- Asset Limits Returning: Starting Jan. 1, 2026, Medi-Cal will again consider assets (like savings or extra vehicles) for seniors and people with disabilities.
- Enrollment Freeze: Undocumented adults (ages 19+) not currently enrolled won’t be able to newly sign up for full-scope Medi-Cal beginning in 2026.
- Dental Coverage Ends: As of July 1, 2026, non-emergency dental care will no longer be covered for undocumented adults.
- Monthly Premiums Begin: Starting July 1, 2027, certain undocumented adults must pay $30/month to maintain full-scope Medi-Cal.
Current Medi-Cal members are encouraged to renew on time to maintain their coverage. They should watch for mail and respond promptly to renewal packets or letters from their health plan or local county office.
