Warmblood Stallions of North America Teaser:

The Secret Project!
I have been working on a project that I'm pretty excited about. It will launch in January, on WarmbloodStallionsNA.com. I'm keeping it a secret for now, but here's a heads-up: any stallion advertising on WarmbloodStallionsNA.com will have a special place in our feature!

Advertising on WSNA is a great plan anyway, especially at this time of year, when breeders stop by to make breeding decisions for spring. But in January we will be adding this extra bonus feature for all advertisers. Don't miss being part of it!

  • Advertising packages start at only $220 for a year of online advertising.
  • Full Stallion Profile with every stallion package.
  • Three levels of ad packages: choose how much promotion you want for your stallion(s) in 2020!
  • Very cost-effective rates for multiple stallions.
  • Your stallion will automatically have a special place in our new feature!

Give Anna a call at 608-232-2922 to discuss the best package for you, or click here for details .

"A Feast for the Breeding Fans" from Horse Magazine
Analysis of WBFSH Sire Rankings.

Christopher Hector has posted a new set of articles on his website,  The Horse Magazine , that will interest breeders. It starts with "WBFSH Jumping Sires 2019," an analysis of the bloodlines represented in the newest Sire Rankings for jumpers, and goes on with dressage sires and eventing sires.

Gemma Alexander co-authors, and provides some statistical analysis, including "strike rate" - an interesting tool for choosing a sire. Shown is the chart ranking dressage sires by percentage of offspring reaching Grand Prix, for example - quite a shakeup.

Read my intro to the articles here . Includes links to each article.
Sir Sinclair #1 Dressage Sire
For Fifth Consecutive Year!

Iron Spring Farm's Sir Sinclair, Keur, was the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) #1 Sire of Dressage Horses for an extraordinary fifth consecutive year (2015-2019). Sir's offspring earned more than 9,800 points in dressage competitions throughout the year, more than 4,000 points ahead of the second place stallion, Contango, Preferent, who also stood at Iron Spring. Sir's impressive achievement was made possible by 74 point-earning sons and daughters, including 23 offspring competing at FEI, with six at Grand Prix. Rounding out the remarkable year for the Iron Spring stallions, UB40, Keur, finished third among nearly 800 ranked dressage sires in 2019.
Report from Dr. Ludwig Christmann
Reflections on a Successful Stallion Sport Test 2019
"For the third time three-day sport tests for stallions according to the German model were carried out in the US from October 29 until November 4, 2019. The organizer is the North American Stallion Sport Test LLC. The tests took place in close coordination with the German Equestrian Federation, because this stallion test is fully recognized by the German FN. The judges and the discipline experts traveled from Germany especially for the tests, and experienced riders who are active in the USA and Canada were on hand as test riders. ..." (Shown: Fellini CF. In Memoriam:
Carthago Sun I

We are sad to announce the passing of Carthago Sun I , who has been a part of Warmblood Stallions of North America's print magazine and also online for many years. He died in November of this year. No frozen semen is available, but his Stallion Profile will remain on  WarmbloodStallionsNA.com  as a memorial. Our condolences to his Edda Selinger and everyone who cared about him. In the deep midwinter...
Wishing you the Happiest Holiday Season and New Year!
There are many reasons why we gather with family and friends at this time of year: religious observance, gift-giving, connecting with family and friends to give us strength during the shortest days of the year. (Here in Wisconsin, those short days can be especially hard to get through!) I'd like to wish you the best of warmth and light in your celebrations, and a wonderful start to 2020! (Above: that's some of my family, heading out to cut a Christmas tree a couple of years ago.)
