Warmer Days
in Westchester
June brings warmer weather, longer days, and fun ways to thank Dad.
Celebrate Father's Day the Westchester Way
Get all your Dad’s favorite brews, and order dinner options that pair nicely with his favorite pours, from Captain Lawrence Brewing Co. in Elmsford. Founded in 2006, it’s the Hudson Valley’s largest craft brewery. Beer styles range from hoppy and flavorful IPA’s to thirst quenching, barrel-aged sour ales.

If Dad’s a dedicated carnivore, have some juicy steaks delivered to his door. Hudson Valley Steakhouse in Yorktown Heights offers delicious options including wet-aged rib eyes, dry-aged tomahawk and porterhouse steaks, and, if you can’t decide, an assorted “meat box.”

If Dad prefers seafood, Dobbs Ferry Lobster Guys will deliver live lobsters and crabs, direct from Westchester native Anthony DiMeglio, a third-generation commercial fisherman plying the Atlantic waters off Long Island. Order by June 18 for delivery before Father's Day.

And if Dad would rather hit the links, Westchester County Parks golf gift cards are redeemable at all six of the County’s beautiful and challenging courses.
Explore the Waters
Launch your boat in the Hudson River at George’s Island Park , a 208-acre waterfront park in Montrose. With magnificent Hudson Valley views, tidal wetlands, a fresh water pond, and wooded trails linked to the  Hudson River Greenway , the park provides access to the River for car-top or trailered boats up to 21’ long, including kayaks, canoes and sailboats.

Another paddling option is Wampus Pond in Armonk, where you can launch your canoe or kayak. Please note the popular rowboat rentals are temporarily suspended. Formerly part of the New York City water supply, this natural pond is the centerpiece of a 93-acre park.
Pick-a-Picnic
Grab lunch or dinner and head to one of our many parks for al fresco dining. Harvest on Hudson delivers to customers in MacEachron Park, within 500 feet of the restaurant. Enjoy wonderful takeout, wine and cocktails with beautiful views of the Hudson River, while maintaining safe social distance. Set up camp on a blanket or bench, mark your spot and they will deliver your to-go meal to you.

Melt Sandwich Shop in White Plains makes seriously satisfying sandwiches that are perfect takeout for a picnic or hike in nearby Saxon Woods Park . Pick your bread; then select from a list of 15 meat, fish or vegetarian options – many smoked or roasted in house. Pro tip: Go for the homemade whole wheat flatbread.
