Fri. June 27, “Lafayette” visits in a horse-drawn carriage to the Lafayette Historic marker in front of Warner Town Hall at 11 am. Speeches, music, poetry, singing, and photo ops.

All day: Bradford Independence Day Celebrations, Fireworks at 9 pm. (Sunday if rain)
Noon: Annual community reading of Frederick Douglass' speech, "What, to the slave, is your 4th of July?" at Warner Town Hall. (sponsored by Warner Historical Society)
1pm to 3pm. Sights & Sounds of Powwow, 2nd lecture on Powwow regalia and associated dances. Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum - included with entry fee.
4pm June Jam Muster Field Farm, Sutton. Gates open 3:30pm. $20 (free under 15).
7 pm Boston Civic Symphony, Sawyer Center Theater at Colby-Sawyer College

Congratulations to the 2025 Recipients of the MainStreet Warner Inc. Jim Mitchell Scholarship, Griffin Dixon, Sophia Lick, Francie Reid, Lilah Bartholomew, Camden Blasingame. Established in 2008, the scholarship helps graduating students from Warner who have made meaningful contributions to the local community pursue formal education beyond high school.
Congratulations also to Nora Collins and Taryn Moyer, this year’s two Fifth Grade students awarded the Jim Mitchell Local Hero Book Award for their caring contributions to the Simonds School community.

School buildings discussion: The KRSD Board has started discussing options for solutions to the District's high projected cost for maintenance and repairs of multiple buildings. The Superintendent has been visiting Town Selectboards (see Warner BOS, June 10). On June 19 the School Board narrowed down to 3 options of 4,
1) "bandaiding" the elem. schools, 2) renovating the elem. schools, or 3) closing the Warner and Sutton elem. schools and busing to New London & Bradford.
The next School Board discussion will be August 7, 6:30 pm. Your School board reps: www.kearsarge.org/district/school-board-mbc/pages/school-board-members

Reminder: tax payments are due July 1st. The first of two property tax bills for 2025 have been mailed. If you haven't received yours please let the Tax Collector know.
The Assessing and Building Department will be closed for training July 7 through July 10. The office will open from 8am to 5pm on Friday July 11. If you need assistance prior to Friday's hours, please note that emails and messages will be checked regularly and appointments can be made during early evening hours on those days. Warner Historical Society Barn Sale open on Saturdays 9-12 and Tuesdays 1-4pm
Upton House Museum, 2025 Exhibit, Ralph Farman Pratt, Landscape Painter and Photographer. Come experience Pratt's exquisite representations of our local landscapes in his oil paintings and photographs, many of which are deftly hand-colored.
On Friday, June 27 at 11AM General Lafayette (a costumed professional re-enactor) will arrive by carriage in Warner to be welcomed by a town selectman and will spend about 90 minutes making a speech and greeting townspeople. There will be music and a festive atmosphere, and town leaders will make speeches commemorating Lafayette's visit to Warner on June 27, 1825. All are invited to join the hero's welcome!

July 4, 2025, Pancake Breakfast: 7:30 – 11:00 am United Church of Warner, 43 East Main Street, Warner. Plain and blueberry waffles and pancakes, scrambled eggs, home fries, baked beans, sausage, and beverages. $12 for adults, children 7 – 12 $5, six and under free. Supports the Warner Historical Society and the United Church of Warner.
Warner's Post #39 American Legion will also participate and will be offering membership renewal for Legionnaires, various flag sizes for sale, and an expanded raffle with cash prizes and many $25 gift certificates to local businesses.
NH Telephone Museum MAY - Oct. hours: Tuesday thru Friday 10 am to 4 pm and Saturdays 10 am to 2 pm. Warner Firefighters Museum is open most Saturdays.

Friday June 27, 5:30-8PM is the "Kid Frankenstein" cast party. Actors need to sign up for the event and for the pot luck. We'll eat, watch the recording of the play (Thanks Sam Dixon!) and talk about next year!
