From sunset on October 10 through to sunrise the next day, we were treated to a spectacular aurora borealis. This was due to a strong X9.0 solar flare from the sun, so strong that the NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center informed FEMA, the national grid, and Homeland Security about it so that they could activate mitigation processes.

Warner's 77th Fall Foliage Festival on October 11-13 was a success in spite of strong gusty winds on Saturday and a cold and rainy Sunday - luckily the rain paused enough for the Grand Parade to stay dry for the beautiful birthday 250th tribute floats!

United Church of Warner community game night is Friday Oct.18, 5:30-8pm

Messy Worship at United Church of Warner this Sunday Oct. 20 from 12-2 PM.

Come prepared to honor a departed loved one by creating a "Día de Los Muertos" shrine, in celebration of All Souls' Day/All Saints' Day. Bring a photo or just your memories, and prepare to have fun sharing and getting "messy."

The Hopkinton Historical Society 9th Living History Tour at the Davisville Cemetery is Saturday and Sunday, October 19 and 20, at 1:00 pm. Visitors will "hear from" 22 former residents of Warner, portrayed by local actors in period costumes, who will share something of their lives and times. The Davisville Cemetery is located on Rt. 103 between the Davisville Flea Market and Cyr Lumber in Warner. Visitors are encouraged to bring a folding chair and to wear comfortable shoes. Tickets are $10.00 for members of the Hopkinton and Warner historical societies and $15.00 for non-members. Tickets available at the event or in advance at the Hopkinton Historical Society during regular business hours. The event will be held rain or shine.

Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum is hosting the 3rd Annual Beadstock on Saturday, November 2, to celebrate traditional beads and beadwork with vendors, demonstrations, speakers, and three unique workshops!

At Work Song Farm, 244 Beech Hill Rd, Hopkinton, on-site food scrap composting is done through a bucket system, where participants can pick up empty buckets at the farm and return full buckets. Food scraps only, no paper products or other compostable single-use items accepted.
