Memorial Day Weekend:
Warner’s Post #39 American Legion annual Memorial Day fundraiser. On May 22, 23, and 24 (Thurs., Fri., Sat.) we will be selling traditional poppies at three Exit 9 locations: Dunkin, Irving Circle K, and the NH State Liquor Store. All proceeds benefit local vets and their families.
Warner's Memorial Day Services will be held Monday, May 26. To help honor our fallen heroes, meet at the American Legion Hall near Reed's North at 8:30 am. Walk across Main Street to the Soldier's monument for a salute and wreath laying, then along West Main St. to the Cemetery for a salute and wreath laying, through the cemetery to the bridge across the Warner River for a salute and wreath to Naval forces, then return to the Legion Hall. KRSD band will accompany the parade if weather is dry.
The Warner Firefighters Museum will be open on Saturday May 24, 2025 at 10am.

Reed's North will be CLOSED Sunday May 25.
Town Offices, Library, KRSD schools, Post Office and Bank will be closed Mon. May 26.

The public is invited, and any location with an AED on site is highly encouraged to send people. For ”handout” purposes, please let the library know if you expect to attend.
Typical topics covered: NH statewide AED Program update, NH AED medical/legal protections, review of the AED equipment, and demonstration of the AED utilizing an AED trainer unit. The “Q & A” discussion format lasts 3/4- 1 hour

The first of two property tax bills for 2025 have been put in the mail. If you don't receive yours by May 29, 2025, please let the Tax Collector know. She'll be happy to produce another for you. These tax bills are due July 1st. This bill is based on last year's. The second bill due in Dec. will adjust for any changes in rate and evaluation.
The Supervisors of the Checklist will meet in a Public Session on the 2nd floor of the Warner Town Hall from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday, May 23, 2025.
At this meeting the Supervisors will attend to administrative matters related to the checklist as a follow-on to the noticed meeting of May 9, 2025

The NH Solid Waste Working Group recently had a presentation by the consultant doing the Waste Characterization Study for NH DES. link to the presentation

In a new study of states' sustainability in fashion, New Hampshire ranks fourth.
A new study by clothing label experts Super Label Store of the most sustainable fashion-focused states across America, gathered data on thrift stores and recycling and used Google searches to create a sustainable fashion index score for each state.
New Hampshire was ranked fourth with a sustainability score of 73.63. The state has 23.75 vintage and thrift stores per 100,000 people, second only to Vermont in this category. Library and Arts Funding updates: on Wed. May 21 the NH Senate Finance Committee voted to keep the NH State Council on the Arts, a division within Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, unfunded. They also voted to start a state fund that can accept private and corporate donations in support of the arts and funded it with $1. So, as of now, the next State of NH biennium budget will fund the arts with $1. The sentiment was expressed that the council is a “want” not a need and that the arts in the state could be kept going with a voluntary council with members who can fill any necessary administrative functions.
Further, the $300,000 “back of the budget cut” for the entire Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (State Parks, Arts Council and NH State Library) remains in effect. There is no decision yet about how that will affect the State Library’s programs and services (The NHSL assists libraries with services such as Interlibrary Loan and Downloadable books, technology assistance for librarians, and public research services.)
