Stacking Wood, Saturday, October 28, starting at 10 AM. Kearsarge Neighborhood Partners will be stacking wood this Saturday at the Warner Transfer Station for the Emergency Wood Bank. There will be 5+ cords of wood to stack. They would like as many volunteers as possible. Come join in the fun and meet other new Warner volunteers! The more the merrier! Water will be provided. And despite the cool temps, there will be Italian Ice! Follow the road in the transfer station until you see the wood pile. Please bring gloves. If you are able, please also bring a wheelbarrow. If possible, please car pool to reduce the number of cars needing to park.

Warner Trick or Treat time is Tuesday Oct. 31 from 5 to 8 pm. Drive carefully! The Student and staff Simonds School costume parade will take place along Main St. at 2 pm, weather permitting. Come watch in costume!

The United Church of Warner, at 43 East Main Street, will be open to trick-or-treaters on Tuesday, October 31, from 5-8 PM. Community members may park in the church parking lot for trick-or-treating, and can also come into our Fellowship Hall to enjoy some doughnuts and hot cider (or coffee for the grownups), along with plenty of fun treats, of course!

The library is open until 8 on Tuesdays and will be stocked up on treats -while they last!

Reed's North will be open 11:30 to 8 on Halloween with treats for the kids and a Halloween drink menu.

Doggie Trick or Treat and costume contest at Woodlawn Pet Resort, Saturday October 28 10:30am – 2 pm for Halloween goodie bags, Games, Raffle, Pet Costume contest (prizes awarded on October 31st), Halloween Photo op - take a pic of your pup. Cartoon Portraits by Georgia also available (5 slots, first come first served, $10 for a small and $20 for a large drawing (per pet).

On August 20, the United Church of Warner welcomed a new settled pastor, Amy Gardner. Before being called to the ministry, Amy worked as a French and Spanish teacher and a freelance writer. She then earned a Certificate in Pastoral Ministry from Lifetree School of Ministry, and was ordained by the American Baptist Churches of Vermont and New Hampshire. Amy lives in Gilmanton, NH with her husband Guy, her fifteen-year-old daughter Athena, and their pets. Warner 4-H Club and the Pillsbury Free Library are teaming up again this year to provide two "Sew and Take" activities for all levels of ability (youths must be accompanied by an adult). Sign up required: call 603-456-2289. Space is limited.

Volunteers Susan Jenna, Marcia Moyer and others will provide help with basic sewing skills on portable sewing machines. Both FREE events will be at the library. Supply your own fabrics or take a chance on donated fabric and materials, to make useful items that also reduce plastic and other waste! We are seeking donations of 100% cotton fabric, minimum of 1 yard of any pattern. NexTREX stretchy plastic recycling progress report: we have officially submitted 233 pounds! Well on our way to meeting the 1000# goal by August to win a bench for Simonds School. Clean plastic bags and stretchy film can be brought to the library or the School. Judith Pellettieri of the Circle of Friends of the library is handling the weighing and reporting, and taking it to the Market Basket transportation point.

Starting Oct. 27! Indoor pickleball at Simonds, Mondays and Fridays 6:30 - 8 pm except when school is not open. Sign up on the TeamReach app to see updates and how many are coming! Look for WarnerNHPB, code WPB21 to join group.

Halloween Trick or Treat in Warner will be Tuesday October 31, 5-8 pm.

Cafe One East will be open for trick or treat 6-8 pm and will also have a costume party, games, and a special menu including "Butter Beer" and hot chocolate! The library is also open Oct. 31 until 8 pm!

Sign-up soon for youth skiing and snowboarding! This WYSA-organized program runs on Thursdays, 1/4/24 - 2/1/24. Instruction is provided by Pats Peak followed by an hour of free skiing with WYSA Chaperones. No transportation will be provided from school this year to the mountain due to a shortage of bus drivers. Registration opens in November through the Pats Peak website.
