The Warner Men’s Club has folded its tent. The small balance left in the Club's accounts has been donated to the Library as a small token of thanks for the meeting space provided for the Club's Board meetings.
The Warner Fall Foliage Festival Board of Directors has some information to share:
2. The Annual Meeting for the Festival Membership will be held on Wednesday, January 11th at 7 PM in Town Hall. This is where the Membership will hear of the funding recommendations of the Funding Sub-committee and vote on whether or not to accept the recommendations. This is also a time to provide feedback, offer suggestions, ask questions, etc... Festival Membership includes anyone who lives in Warner or anyone who was a part of the Festival.
3. The Board has several open spots for key roles. The roles of Board President, Volunteer Coordinator and Secretary are open. There are other Board roles to fulfil other tasks that come about in the course of planning for the Festival. Anyone who is interested in these roles, or wants to know more information, can contact the current Volunteer Coordinator, Beth Lukaitis, at volunteerwfff@aol.com.
4. The Annual Membership meeting is the time when new Board members are appointed. There is a very real risk that if the current openings are not filled by the Annual meeting, this will be the final meeting of the WFFF.
The American Legion Post 39 (WILKINS-CLOUES-BIGELOW-PEARSON Post 39) meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 7 pm. In warm months meetings are at the American Legion building (near Reed's North), and in the winter meetings are held in the lower part of the NH Telephone Museum. Come see how you can help other local Veterans, make some friends, or find out about helpful programs for Vets. Veteran's Day is fast approaching - offer to help with the ceremony! Contact Charles at cetrowbridge1948@gmail.com.
Post 39 serves veterans, their families and communities in Warner, Webster, Bradford, Sutton and other towns in Central NH. Any honorably discharged veteran that served on active duty as of December 7, 1941, through the present date of hostilities, yet to be reached is eligible to join the American Legion.
