Winter is Here!
Emergency alerts for Warner:
The United Church of Warner will be having Christmas Eve service online this year. The service will include live musicians performing traditional Christmas songs, and an encouraging Christmas message.
The service will start at 6 pm and will be available to view at ucwarner.org
Kearsarge Neighborhood Partnership KNPNH.org is a multi-Town organization coordinating with area support services and volunteers to assist people in need. Their website provides a way for people to confidentially state their needs, and for volunteers to indicate what types of help they can provide when needed, such as buying groceries or delivering pre-boxed items contact-free, being an assistant for completing forms, shoveling, or minor maintenance work, and more.
Warner Connects NH Food Pantry and Community Resource Center 456-2053. Check out their new Facebook page.
Donations of food and personal care products for the Food Pantry are also being collected at Country Cobwebs, Warner NH. Drop your donated items in the box inside.

Any vehicle found to be in violation of this ban will be towed away at the owner’s expense.

The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) funded Batelle labs to study Covid-19 survival time on Library and Museum materials. Libraries are using these results to guide their materials quarantine protocols, but you can also use them at home to assess relative risk from various ordinary materials like plastic vs paper. Results are summarized here.

To Do
Be safe: stay home and phone, Zoom, Skype or Facetime family and friends, or learn something new...
Watch: Warner history
One of the first American women in Europe during the First World War, singer Caroline Gardner Bartlett was a relief worker who eventually found herself accused of spying for the Germans. Bartlett and her husband moved from Boston to Warner, NH, to establish a singing school in 1904.
To learn more about Sister Beatrice, watch “Supplies and Spies: The Adventures of Caroline Gardner Bartlett,” a program delivered by Library Director Sarah Galligan during the NH Historical Society’s 2017 Spring Lecture Series, New Hampshire and the Great War.
You can watch the lecture at
Museum news:

Tech Tip: Kanopy streaming movies
|
Our account on Kanopy is free for you, and offers documentaries, small studio films, Award winners & nominees, foreign films, public television, educational kids TV, etc.
Starting in January, and immediately for new accounts, we have increased the monthly limit on "plays" to 10 per month per account (plus unlimited Kanopy Kids as always), not including unlimited "credit free" titles which can be found by scrolling down the lists to the "credit free viewing" section.
|
|
If you are not already signed up, go to WarnerNH.kanopy.com and create a personalized account using your email and any password of your choice.
Next time you sign in, look for the smaller sign in button at the top.
There is a Kanopy app, but we find it more effective to search for titles on the website. Once you select a film to watch, you have 3 days to finish it.
It works on TVs, (Roku etc), computers and mobile devices.
