Warner People / in the Media

The Warner Highway Garage fire cleanup has begun. Surrounding Towns have offered assistance as needed while Warner vehicles are being cleaned and checked. Ten other vehicles inside the garage also sustained smoke damage, including a backhoe loader, a road sweeper and other trucks. A contract for temporarily using the State of NH Highway facilities nearby has been worked out. More in 3/23 Concord Monitor article, below.


Condolences to the family and friends of Vera Louise Hazen, who passed away on March 22. Louise taught in the Kearsarge District, and was a 4H leader for over 50 years. After retirement she worked at the Pillsbury Free Library (2001-2019) and coordinated GED tutoring. Memorial gathering will be Sunday May 17 at Jim Mitchell Park. Obituary

Fun $ Saving Fact: Our online language program, Transparent Language Online, (app also available) is free and has no ads. Sarah Hansen says she was delighted to find it suited her learning style better than Duolingo, and had more useful vocabulary right from the start. And she saves on the ad-free price. 140 languages available including ASL, and it also includes citizenship test practice lessons and English for new residents.

The library has poly-cotton tote bags for sale, by donation

($10 minimum). Notecards with our stained glass windows are also for sale.


Puzzle swap! Thanks to those who have brought in picture puzzles to share, there is a free puzzle swap area near the library's copier now.

Swap some or just come get one or more to use and return it later!

Museum of Science will be closed March 30th – April 1st due to Museum-wide maintenance - so we can issue 2 passes on two days in April! Go with friends!

This is a good season to borrow our telescope when the air is relatively dry and clear.

What suggestions do you have for additions to our "Library of Things" collection? Knife sharpener? Metal detector? So far we have Kill-o-Watt energy meters , DVD players, CD and VHS players, a code reader, a Radon monitor and puzzles, sewing machine.

Miss Sue's Library News (for Kids)

Miss Sue is planning the summer program. "Plant a seed, Read" is the theme. Activities are free, offered Tuesday AM and Wednesday afternoons starting July 7. Look for details and a brochure soon.

Order your Summer program T-shirts now! There are many neat colors and designs this year (see image) Sizes are from toddler to adult. Visit the online Store to see styles, sizes and prices and let Miss Sue know what you would like to order!

Easter, Passover, and Ramadan books and movies are now out and available.

A good sign of warmer weather is a change of book on the story walk. Pete the Cat and the Treasure Map is next. A great way to look ahead to warmer weather! Enjoy! The trail may still be very wet and/or muddy, but nice to get out and read a good book!


Reminder for 4th graders and up, April is voting time for the Great Stone Face books.The more you read the better your chances at Miss Sue's game at the Great Stone Face voting party on April 17. Stop in for a book! Register to attend the party!
