From the president of Magdalen College, Ryan Messmore: "After careful evaluation of the college’s financial challenges and a thorough review of alternatives, the Board of Trustees reluctantly has decided to close the college after graduation in May 2024. Magdalen College will teach out the remainder of the 2023-2024 academic year and has already begun to work with a variety of institutions—including other colleges, our academic accreditation agency (NECHE), and the New Hampshire Department of Education—to ensure a smooth pathway for students to complete their degrees. We understand and share the heartbreak by our students, faculty, staff, and alumni, and we will work closely with them to succeed through this transition."

Warner Fire Rescue annual Turkey Raffle will be Saturday Nov. 18 at 7pm. This is a fun community night with chances to win turkeys, hams, gift cards and other prizes. Cash prize raffle tickets only can be bought in advance at Sugar River Bank.

Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser at the Indian Museum. Dec. 2 at 2-4 pm. Spaghetti and meatballs, garlic bread, salad, and dessert! Vegetarian options will be available. Stop by to either eat in person or bring your containers for take out! All proceeds from this fundraiser will go to Steve and Jan Hibbard to help with medical costs associated with Steve's upcoming lung transplant. Jan is an Educator at the Indian museum and the family could use our help and support. If you would like to volunteer to bring a crockpot of meatballs and sauce or a batch of pasta, watch for the sign up link to be posted soon.

Warner 4-H Club and the Pillsbury Free Library are teaming up again this year to provide "Sew and Take" activities for all ages and levels of ability (youths must be accompanied by an adult).

Volunteers Susan Jenna, Marcia Moyer and others will provide help with basic sewing skills on portable sewing machines. Both FREE events will be at the library. Supply your own fabrics or take a chance on donated fabric and materials, to make useful items that also reduce plastic and other waste! We are seeking donations of 100% cotton fabric, minimum of 1 yard of any pattern. Volunteer helpers and ironing boards welcomed.

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is the next play being put on by the Library Book Nook group. Come get a copy of the script, and sign up for a small part, large part or to be on the stage crew.

POKEMON club was a blast with two "old" friends of Miss Sue's , Mason and Evan, helping to teach us how to play the game! We also created a "POKEMON Ball" for a snack.

Sign-up asap for youth skiing and snowboarding! This WYSA-organized program runs on Thursdays, 1/4/24 - 2/1/24. We have a few At-Home Covid-19 Test Kits at the Library. If you are unable to get to a medical facility for a test, ask the staff for a test kit. Also, we have masks, for families, businesses or non-profits, including youth size masks.

NexTREX stretchy plastic recycling progress report: we have officially submitted 300 pounds! Well on our way to meeting the 1000# goal by August to win a bench for Simonds School. Clean plastic bags and stretchy film can be brought to the library or the School. Judith Pellettieri of the Circle of Friends of the library is handling the weighing and reporting, and taking it to the Market Basket transportation point.
