2021 Town Meeting plans for March... and May? There will be voting for officers, zoning amendments and School budget by ballot "as usual" on Tuesday March 9, in the same manner as last November's voting, and plans are afoot for a delay in the deliberative session until warmer weather for outdoor meeting, or other arrangements. Sample ballots, absentee ballots and other voting information is at https://warner.nh.us/notices/

Information about vaccinations
Current cases of Covid-19 in Warner: 1-4 active cases, with a total of 119 cases so far, an increase of 2 from last week's newsletter.
The Concord-Lake Sunapee Rail Trail is asking people to complete a survey. A team of engineering students from Dartmouth along with the National Park Service is helping to design a segment of rail trail in Warner between Bagley Field (town soccer fields) and the village of Warner. This is concept work, not an active construction project.
The link to the survey is here through February 14th.
Sherry Gould points out you can suggest additional languages to include on signage (Abenaki?). Survey results will be shared with the public the evening of February 18th via Zoom.
Warner Fall Foliage Festival Committee is looking for a few volunteers to help with 2021 Festival prep. Please reach out if you are interested or know someone with creative talent for shirt designs or some good organizational skills to help at monthly meetings - currently the first Monday at 7 pm by Zoom.

Do you have any Porcupine visitors this large? Nancy Ladd thought at first it was a bear cub! Did you know they were once so numerous in NH that Fishers (often called fisher cats) were reintroduced to control them? However, fishers also catch easier meals like house cats and squirrels. In recent years porcupine numbers have been dropping, we hear.

This was not an especially large raccoon, but it brought a friend (in shadows by compost bin), so that made up for it. Guess we might as well buy our sweet corn from Courser Farms, next season!
Do you have local nature photos? Send them us at the library!
if there is room we will share some.

Tech Tips: Vaccine Registration
|
Some tips from N.H. Librarians who have been assisting on 211 or in-person:
211 phone wait times are often shorter after the 8-9:30 am morning rush.
You can include a spouse or other eligible household member when you make your appointment. The "barcode" number will be the same for both of you, but the other person will fill out their own personal information at the appointment location.
Bring proof of NH residency.
|
|
If you choose to be notified about your vaccination appointment by phone, make sure you answer, or have your answering machine or service set up.
If the caller's number starts with 603-271- it is from a NH state service.
There will be several stages of notification - and sometimes a rescheduling happens. Pay attention to emails if that is your method of contact.
Using an iPad or Kindle tablet does not work well for the online registration.
Need access to a computer to make a vaccine appointment? Call us at 456-2289.
