Meet the Author - An Afternoon of Native American Books Sunday, October 29, 1:00 – 4:00pm at Mt Kearsarge Indian Museum, 18 Highlawn Rd, Warner. A presentation and discussion with author Daniel Boudillion. Daniel will talk about his book, History of the Nashoba Praying Indians: Doings, Sufferings, Survival, and Triumph. Warner Open Doors will be Saturday Nov. 4:

Warner 4-H Club and the Pillsbury Free Library are teaming up again this year to provide two "Sew and Take" activities for all levels of ability (youths must be accompanied by an adult). Sign up required: call 603-456-2289. Space is limited.

Wed. November 15 at 6:30 pm: Make fabric placemats for your home or as a gift!

Wed. December 6 at 6:30 pm: Make re-usable fabric napkins (to go with your placemats!), or gift wrap bags to jazz up gifts!

Volunteers Susan Jenna, Marcia Moyer and others will provide help with basic sewing skills on portable sewing machines. Both FREE events will be at the library. Supply your own fabrics or take a chance on donated fabric and materials, to make useful items that also reduce plastic and other waste! We are seeking donations of 100% cotton fabric, minimum of 1 yard of any pattern. Volunteer helpers welcomed.

Library Book Group will meet Wed. November 8 at 1:30 pm to discuss Mr. Dickens and his Carol by Samantha Silver. All welcome. Copies are available at the library. The group always meets on the second Wednesday of the Month.

While it might seem a bit rebellious, wildlife like cardinals, chipmunks, insects, and spotted salamander prefer when you lay off the yard work. Simonds School students and staff will parade in costume on Main Street (time TBA). Come watch in costume!). Cafe One East will be open for trick or treat 6-8 pm and will also have a costume party, games, and a special menu including "Butter Beer" and hot chocolate! The library is also open Oct. 31 until 8 pm!

Kearsarge Conservatory for the Performing Arts (KCPA) COMMUNITY OUTREACH WEEK October 24th-30th. Dress up in your favorite Halloween costume and try out any of our classes! We teach all levels and all ages in ballet, pointe, acrobatic arts, tap, jazz, modern, and hip hop. Preschool and kindergarten classes include: music, ballet, tap, and acrobatic arts. It’s almost time to sign-up for skiing and snowboarding! This WYSA-organized program runs on Thursdays, 1/4/24 - 2/1/24. Instruction is provided by Pats Peak followed by an hour of free skiing with WYSA Chaperones. No transportation will be provided from school this year to the mountain due to a shortage of bus drivers. Registration opens in November through the Pats Peak website.
