Congratulations to Karinne Heise for having her photo of Warner otters in Winter included in the March readers photo gallery at Northern Woodlands Magazine.
This excellent magazine has regional wildlife articles and photos, and quarterly print issues which can be borrowed from the Library.

Library funding update: (see March 20 issue for previous details)
It is still uncertain how the March 14, 2025 Presidential Executive Order directing the minimization of the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) will affect the congressional funds usually directed to each State Library. Those funds are used to run the NH Interlibrary Loan (ILL) system, The Libby app expenses for downloadable books and magazines, and Talking Books for the Blind and Physically Handicapped.

Meanwhile, the NH House finance 1 committee voted on Tuesday 3/25 for a reduced budget for the DNCR, of which the NH State Library is one division, (on Monday they voted to eliminate the Council on the Arts, another division of DNCR, and on Tuesday the motion to also eliminate the NH State Library was withdrawn). Library Trustee meetings include the Monthly Board Meeting on the third Tuesday of each month (at 6:30 pm, in person). Various Committee meetings, some that meet monthly, vary in schedule but are posted online and at the USPO and Town Hall.
Trustee meetings are published 24-48 hours in advance on the Warner Events Calendar. Approved minutes are published on the Trustee Meetings page.

Book Discussion Groups
The Library book discussion group meets the 2nd Wed. each month at 1:30 pm in the library. All are welcome! The library has copies to borrow up to 4 weeks before the meetings.
April 9 Year of No Garbage by Eve O. Schaub
BookEnds BookGroup meets at 4pm on the first Friday every other month. The next meeting will be on April 4: Still Life by Louise Penny.
You can also request copies for any book group via the library through inter-library loan.
