April 12: Happy Big Wind Day: on April 12th 1934, the Mt. Washington Observatory crew clocked a world record wind of 231 miles per hour, a record that held for decades.

American Legion Post 39 the Saturday April 18 meeting beginning at 4:00pm will include an open house for veterans held at the Post, 8 Kearsarge St. Extension. Anyone who has served honorably since Dec 7, 1941 including Reserves, National Guard, and Merchant Marines, is eligible to be a member. The Warner Area Farmers Market is looking for new crafters and vendors to join us this spring and summer on Saturdays! We also want to bring in small events/activities such as plays/performances, music groups, dance lessons or anything that can engage the community! Interested vendors for the Warner Area Farmers Market 2026 season are welcome to attend a planning meeting at the Pillsbury Library meeting room this Saturday, April 11th at 1:00pm. Meeting will focus on planning for the first market day of the season which is also Spring Into Warner, happening on Saturday May 16.

The Library's Circle of Friends meets monthly on the first Tuesday at 2 pm to discuss ways to promote library services, and reading. Evening programs are being organized for April 22 ( local authors/ Artist), April 29 (Gardening for Wildlife) and May 14 (Stone walls of New England with Kevin Gardner). Assistance with other events and bake sales is also provided - join the fun! Next meeting is May 5 at 2 pm.

April 18th is Discover WILD NH day, 10-3:00. at Hazen Drive in Concord. FREE. There are over 100 exhibits, family fun, and many hands on activities. Also there is food truck alley if you bring an appetite.

POKEMON club will be meeting Tuesday, April 14, 3-5:00 in the Children's room. Sign up your child with Miss Sue so she knows how many kids to expect. Simonds students also need to let Mrs. Grimes know so she can release them to Miss Sue to walk down to the library. Snack is provided, kids can bring a water bottle.
Reminder for 4th graders and up, April is voting time for the Great Stone Face books.The more you read the better your chances at Miss Sue's game at the Great Stone Face voting party on April 17. Stop in for a book! Register to attend the party!

Circle of Friends Library Book Group meets monthly on the 2nd Wednesday. The next meeting will be on May 13, 2026 at 1:30 pm in the library to discuss 'Junie' by Erin Crosby Eckstine. Copies are now available at the library. All are welcome.

BookEnds BookGroup meets at 4pm on the first Friday every other month at MainStreet BookEnds. Next meeting Friday June 5 at 4 pm at the bookstore. Title to be announced later.

NHDES soilSHOP events are a chance for community members to drop off soil samples from their yards or gardens to have them screened for lead, for free. MainStreet Warner is once again accepting applications for the Jim Mitchell Scholarship, awarded annually to graduating high school seniors who have had a beneficial impact on the community. NH Heritage Museum Trail Passports are back at MKIM! These passports provide buyers with one free admission ticket to 21 of the museums that are part of the museum trail. Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum is included, as well as Castle in the Clouds, the Millyard Museum, Strawberry Banke, and more. Good for one person for one year from the date of purchase, and is non-transferable. Available in the museum store and on our website.

The Tray it Forward project offers free vegetable seedlings and is designed for folks in the Kearsarge region who self-identify as having financial or time barriers to starting a garden at home, or for folks running community garden sites that increase access to growing food. FEED Kearsarge, a coalition of organizations working to address food security in the Kearsarge Region, is convening a Food Security Summit on Saturday, April 18 from 9:00-3:00 at KRHS.
