New mental health crisis line and mobile units are now available - and are hiring. (too bad the crisis phone number isn't an easier one - but you could also try 211 to get to it) The NH Rapid Response Access Point phone number is 1-833-710-6477.
People calling the number will receive over-the-phone support to help them navigate their mental health crisis. The aid could include over-the-phone referrals to outpatient services, or if needed, the mobile crisis unit could be dispatched.
In the summer of 2022, when the National Suicide Hotline is replaced with the three-digit 988 number, New Hampshire will also transition to that simpler, three-digit number.
If you or someone you know is despairing and needs help now, you can call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255), or text HOME to 741741.
Open enrollment for health insurance for the coming year ends on January 15, 2022.
If you need help with child care expenses, you may be eligible for the NH Child Care Scholarship program. It’s easy to apply - and once you qualify, you can remain eligible for a year, regardless of your income. Apply at https://nheasy.nh.gov/#/

Great Reads - Hidden in Plain Sight!
by Roger Robbins
Looking for a different author, someone special you haven't read before? On the Pillsbury Free Library fiction shelves, look no further than the letter "A" - Auchincloss, Louis.
Louis Auchincloss wrote novels and short stories with crisp prose and captivating plots that keep readers riveted until the final page. Auchincloss' subjects were often the privileged upper crust of New York society from early to mid-20th Century. His characters, however, are as recognizable as the people next door, showing a wide array of human strengths and foibles. The Book Class and Tales of Manhattan offer short pieces - small, revealing prose portraits, while novels such as The Partners and The Embezzler expose the worlds of high-powered law and finance.
