About 350,000 people last year from all over the world visited Carl and Debra Chaney's homemade ice cream business, Chaney’s Dairy Barn, at the northeast corner of their dairy farm alongside busy U.S. 31W just south of Bowling Green. Chaney’s ice cream, made using milk from their herd of 60 Jersey cows, has been named best in the state by USA Today.
University of Kentucky agricultural economists predict the state’s 2021 agricultural receipts will exceed $6.7 billion, a new record surpassing the previous record of $6.5 billion in 2014 and the $5.5 billion average over the past five years.
