Read Across America will be celebrated nationwide next week. This celebration occurs annually on/near the birthday of beloved Dr. Seuss. At Wahoo Elementary, we have a long-standing tradition of serving a Green Eggs and Ham breakfast for students and community members on this date. Last year, we served 832 meals in honor of Dr. Seuss and our love of reading!
Although Wahoo Elementary now allows visitors, COVID-19 precautions will not allow for our traditional celebration which brings hundreds of visitors into the building at once. On Wednesday, March 3rd, we will be providing a fun day for students by providing Green Eggs and Ham as our school lunch offering and welcoming WPS high schoolers into the building dressed as Dr. Seuss book characters. There will also be Seuss-themed raffle prizes for students as in past years. We look forward to hosting our big breakfast event again in future years!
