Building on Strengths!
Wahoo Elementary works toward our school district's mission of "Inspiring Our Students to Thrive" by using positive psychology. This means we work to identify each child's positive attributes, and help him/her create a unique path to success by using these strengths to overcome challenges. We also embrace Growth Mindset, which means we provide feedback in the forms of coaching and praise. Effort often matters more than the outcome!
Fundraising Opportunity

Casey's General Stores recently began "Cash for Classrooms." Please download the app and select Wahoo Elementary to ensure a percentage of your purchases go to our school!

New Playground!
We celebrated the "Grand Opening" of our NEW playground on September 23rd! Located on the east side of our school, the playground is primarily used by students in grades 3-5. It consists of a new playset and swings, and newly poured rubber with proper drainage.

Thanks to our Parent-Teacher Organization we also have a full width rubberized basketball court with our Warrior logo. Additionally, talented staff members painted foursquare pads and a giant United States map on the asphalt surface. The kids are loving it all!
Just for Laughs...
I heard physical activity and trying new things are good for your health. So, to keep our staff at top performance I posed the first Wellness Wednesday challenge: Try out the new equipment!
Keep smiling!
Mr. Kreifels

Mrs. Meyer enjoyed the new slide!
Mrs. Steiner thought the BLUE slide was the most fun!
Mrs. Anderson loves an adventure!
Wellness Wednesdays: Wahoo Elementary will host Wellness Wednesdays twice per month for the remainder of the 20-21 school year. Staff and students are encouraged to wear clothing that is appropriate for lots of physical activity. Goals of Wellness Wednesday include
  • Promoting physical and emotional well-being
  • Teaching and reinforcing self-care, as well as strategies for stress management
  • Using physical movement as a strategy to engage students in academics.

Staff and classrooms of students are eligible to win healthy prizes for participating in the theme challenge for that day.
