WARRIOR WEEKLY May 23rd - May 27th
Happy Friday, Warrior Families!

This week flew by, and the next will be just as fast. Thank you to the students and families who joined us last night at our Shining Star Showcase. If you could not join us, you were missed. Our young leaders were outstanding and modeled the TMA WAY!

Next week is the last week of classes and exams for our Seniors. It is hard to believe that graduation is coming in three weeks.

Student Incident Yesterday

During yesterday's event, it was brought to my attention that a group of students who had a dispute with one another fought in a nearby neighborhood earlier in the afternoon. We are disappointed that the students handled this disagreement with their hands instead of using their words. We are also disappointed to learn that other students watched, and a small number encouraged the incident.

TMA's Student Affairs team is working with each student, and their family involved to sort out the next steps, consequences, and needed mediations for the students. I want to be clear that each student's consequence and support plan for the year will be aligned with the student and their actions yesterday.

If there are updates that we need to share with the entire community, we will do so as well.

Get a Running Start on Childhood Vaccinations
Childhood vaccinations across the country are down and especially low among DC children. This puts the entire DMV community at risk for a serious outbreak of a dangerous disease. DC has a number of resources available designed to help families get all students up-to-date on all childhood vaccinations required for school attendance. It is critical that families take the following steps to keep your child and our community safe:

  1. Schedule your child’s annual wellness visit
  2. Make sure your child has received all of their immunizations
  3. Submit immunization documents to your school
