Bountiful and Cheerful Giving
By Donald M. Larson, PhD
In Exodus 35, Moses called on the Israelites to give as their hearts stirred them to the construction of the Tabernacle and its furniture: “All the men and women, the people of Israel, whose heart moved them to bring anything for the work that the Lord had commanded by Moses to be done brought it as a freewill offering to the Lord” (Exodus 35:29). The people gave from their hearts and not from a requirement.

Opportunity to Offset the Cost of Tuition
We are in the process of planning transportation needs for the 2021-22
school year. The bus driver who has driven for the school the past
several years will not be returning, so we will need to find new drivers.
Driving opportunities include the Waynesboro bus route, field trips, and some shuttling of students from campus to campus or to the Activities Center. To drive the bus you must possess a CDL license and a passenger-bus endorsement. These credentials can be obtained online through the DMV website. If you are interested in driving for the school or know someone who might be interested, call Randy Knight for more details. 540-430-6918 or [email protected]

IOWA Tests (April 26-29)
A special schedule has been generated for this week, so please download a .pdf version of it by clicking here.

Freshmen and sophomores should arrive at school as they normally would throughout the week.

Juniors and seniors should arrive before 9:00 AM, Monday through Thursday, at the locker room entrance. Those who arrive after 9:00 AM must come to the front entrance. On Friday, they should use the meeting room entrance as usual, as that day a normal full-day schedule will be followed.
Class of 2021
Each senior's family will receive 8 tickets per senior to the Graduation Ceremony (Saturday, May 29) to be distributed among themselves (their GCS senior does need a ticket) and their invited guests. Only GCS seniors, their invited guests, select HS faculty, staff, and administrators, along with the GCS Board of Trustees, will be able to attend this year's ceremony, unless COVID-19 indoor restrictions are loosened or lifted by the state of Virginia.

Additionally, each senior's family will receive 3 tickets to the Senior Garden Party (Friday, May 28 from 6:30-7:15 PM). Only GCS seniors and up to 3 guests may join them for this event, which will then be followed by the Senior Dinner hosted at Emilio's Italian Restaurant in Staunton.

Both sets of tickets along with more details about each of these events and updated information about the Senior Trip will be distributed this Friday to the seniors during the school day.
