Teacher Appreciation

Summer Reading
This summer’s reading assignments for high school students mirror last summer’s. All students will read a particular literary work that is part of their grade level’s 2021-22 English class curriculum, as well as complete an assignment related to the book that is due near the beginning of the first quarter. The books are ordered by the school, and each student is provided their own copy to read and annotate. If the books on order do not arrive before the end of the semester, it will be necessary for each family to pick up the book(s) for their student(s) at the high school front desk during posted summer office hours as early in the summer as possible. More specifics will soon be posted here as well as on the school website under Resources: Summer Resources.
Government Class
Seniors in Miss Ogrosky's and Mr. Kerr's Government classes enjoyed a "town-hall" discussion with Representative Ben Cline on Tuesday, May 11. Students brave enough to do so asked one or two of their prepared questions, and Representative Cline was gracious and informative in his responses. It was a great way to connect the dots between what they have learned this year with current real-life experiences.
High School Awards Ceremony
While we are thrilled that we can still host this annual event, we are disappointed that we cannot swing open the doors and welcome everyone who wants to attend to do so. Other than current students and employees, only parents of seniors and a few additional parents whose underclassmen will be receiving a prestigious award may attend.
Teen Leadership Camps @ Patrick Henry College
Patrick Henry College is once again hosting their Teen Leadership Camps this summer on-campus and in-person! Each one of these week-long camps provides students ages 14-18 the opportunity to engage with like-minded peers and world-class professors in exploring an exciting subject of their choice. PHC's Teen Camps are a wonderful opportunity to meet new friends, learn new things, and spend the summer growing in your relationship with Christ.

If you have any questions, you may pass them along to [email protected], or give our Teen Camp Coordinator, Nathan Pipkin, a call at 540-441-8105.
