Graduation Ceremony
In the category of miraculous answers to prayer, we are thrilled to announce that anyone desiring to attend our graduation may do so, as current governmental limitations which caused us to previously only permit reserved seating have been rescinded, effective May 29, the day of commencement!

Guests with tickets may arrive as early as 1:20 PM, and guests without tickets may arrive as early as 1:40 PM. The ceremony begins at 2:00 PM and will be held at Church on the Hill (100 Foursquare Ln., Fishersville).

All guests must wear a mask inside the building, except when they are seated. This expectation does not apply to individuals who have been vaccinated or for whom wearing a mask is a medical risk.
09-11 Semester 2 Exams
Not all underclassmen will have an exam during both sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday. So showing up later or leaving earlier than usual is permitted as long as a student's parent(s)/guardian(s) give permission (click below button to access an online permission form).

Students whose parents prefer they be at school anyway will be placed in a supervised study hall.

This special sign-out privilege does not apply to Monday or Thursday.
Summer Reading
HS Parents and Students,
Summer is right around the corner, and so is summer reading for English. Each rising 9th-12th grader is provided a copy of a literary work to read over the summer and an assignment to complete in relation to the reading that is due near the beginning of the school year. Specifics will be available here next week and will also be emailed and posted on our website under Resources: Summer Resources in the near future.
All applicable dress code rules remain in effect during the final weeks with the following exceptions:

  • Fri., May 21 - Casual Day

  • Tues.-Thurs., May 25-27 - Relaxed Day*

*RELAXED DRESS CODE is even more lenient than
CASUAL-DAY DRESS CODE; however, students are still responsible to ensure that their attire is modest, appropriate, and neat.
High School Awards Ceremony
While we are thrilled that we can still host this annual event, we are disappointed that we cannot swing open the doors and welcome everyone who wants to attend to do so. Other than current students and employees, only parents of seniors and a few additional parents whose underclassmen will be receiving a prestigious award may attend.
Return of School Books
In the last couple of days of class or on semester exam day, teachers will collect textbooks from students. Any students who do not return their textbooks that day should return them directly to their teachers or to the receptionist if teachers are not available.

Any textbooks needing repair may result in a fine, and in such cases, an official communication will be sent to the parents.

All "consumables" (typically workbooks) in which students were authorized to write answers, notes, etc. should be taken one last time back home to be cherished or thrown away/recycled. We don't have the capacity to handle all of the students' consumables being thrown away/recycled here at the HS.
Thinkwell Worldview Conference
This one-week worldview and apologetics training conference for young adults (ages 14 to 22) is being sponsored and hosted by CrossLife Community Church in Charlottesville, Virginia. The conference covers topics related to worldview, apologetics, Biblical stewardship, personal discipleship, evangelism, and missions. Interested? Click here.
Teen Leadership Camps @ Patrick Henry College
Patrick Henry College is once again hosting their Teen Leadership Camps this summer on-campus and in-person! Each one of these week-long camps provides students ages 14-18 the opportunity to engage with like-minded peers and world-class professors in exploring an exciting subject of their choice. PHC's Teen Camps are a wonderful opportunity to meet new friends, learn new things, and spend the summer growing in your relationship with Christ.

If you have any questions, you may pass them along to [email protected], or give our Teen Camp Coordinator, Nathan Pipkin, a call at 540-441-8105.

Fine Arts Update
An Evening of Worship and Song
Our elementary and middle school choirs presented a beautiful evening of worship and song last Thursday in the middle school gym. While COVID did not allow us to make this an all-school event, it was truly a celebration of the students' hard work and a display of the gift of music. Please enjoy the elementary concert here and the middle school concert here.
Attention, all rising 2nd-8th graders! Don't miss your chance to stay creative this summer. Our fine arts camp is loaded with art, music, drama, and dance classes to help you enhance your skills and learn some new things. Come join us! Sign up here. Deadline is Friday, May 21st.
