One-Minute Survey

By Donald M. Larson, PhD

At our Back-to-School parent meetings, I announced that we would be sending out a monthly “One-Minute Survey.” These will be short surveys that cover various topics. These surveys will be used to help the school leadership with decision-making processes. They will take you less than one minute to complete and will provide us with important information. Please take a minute to complete it.

PASS IT ON PROJECT

What we have going on here at GCS is special and unique! Help us keep going strong by supporting the first of two school-wide fundraisers! We ask that every household find a way that they can provide support. Filling out a champion list (more information on this later) is the easiest way, but we also need volunteers, service sites, and service project leaders!

Pass It On At-A-Glance
Have a serivce site in mind for our students?
Would you like to volunteer to help?

All staff and students will receive a free shirt, thanks to our sponsor, Staunton Veterinary Clinic! If you would like to purchase one (or five!) for yourself or a non-student, order here this week!

Order a Pass It On Shirt Here!~Staff and students are already covered.~

Art Supplies Needed

There are some things that you might normally toss out or send to Goodwill that the ES Art department can use in their art class. If you are willing, please send them in to either GCS front desk. Here is our list:

  • Artificial flowers (immediate need only)
  • Solid color t-shirts with no logo or design (immediate need only)
  • Plastic (not Styrofoam) egg cartons (these make the BEST paint trays! We always need these!)
  • 16 oz. creamer bottles (through Christmas)
  • 16 oz. short-style sour cream, cottage cheese, or dip containers (all year)
  • Styrofoam meat trays (all year)

Photo Days

By request of the photographer, the date for HS School Photos has been postponed to Monday, October 10.

We will have class and individual photos (of each HS student) taken on this date. More details will be sent as we get close to this new date.

Makeup Photos will be taken on Monday, November 14.

Gum Chewing

Even on days when you did not brush your teeth, chewing gum inside any GCS building is prohibited. Violating this policy most likely will result in behavioral detention being assigned.

Dress Code Reminder

Except on Casual or Casual + Days, students should not wear t-shirts to school.

Also, when wearing sweatshirts, hoodies, etc. as "outerwear," students should have a top underneath their "outerwear" that falls within our dress code guidelines.
