Another One-Minute Survey?
Blog by Head of School, Donald M. Larson, PhD
| |
Thank you to everyone who completed our last survey. I have received positive feedback on the formatting and the amount of time that it took to complete the survey. This information is a great help in our decision-making process. We are partnering with you as parents, and we can be more effective if you help us with making decisions.
We have had a lot of anecdotal evidence about the topics that have been presented in the past at our mandatory January re-enrollment meeting, but we would like some more specific feedback from you. One of our strategic committees is looking into helping you, as parents, learn more about Biblical Worldview and other pertinent topics.

4th-6th Grade Grandparents' Day!!
Grandparents’ Day invitations and instructions will be coming home in white envelopes on Monday. The students have been working very hard for this wonderful event. Please try to confirm at least one special guest for your 4th-6th grade student. As a reminder, parents are asked to attend the Thursday evening performance (October 20th at 6:30 PM) so that the Friday morning performance is reserved for your student’s invited guests.
Grandparents’ Day events
October 2 - 6:30 PM performance for parents
October 21 - 10:00 AM performance for grandparents and special guests
| |
A Couple of Reminders:
- Please do not allow your students to wear watches that are "smart," have the ability to play games, or text. Simple watches that tell the time are the best.
- If your student needs something printed and you aren't able to do this at home, please have your student share the document with Mrs. Wells the night before it is due. She is happy to print it for them. Please have your student come to the office in the morning to pick up their document and bring in 10 cents per page.
- Please remember to send in a paper plate and plastic forks or spoons with your students if they need those for lunch.

Middle School Retreat - Please note the REQUIRED FORM.
Dear Parents of MS Students,
Middle school is a challenging time as students transition into tougher academics
while socially hungering for more time with peers. It is a time of independence and
extreme self-awareness. Understanding all of these factors has prompted us at GCS to capitalize on an adventurous retreat that blends learning, faith, teamwork, and outdoor activities.
Continue reading in the "Letter to MS Parents."

The link below takes you to the waiver form
that is required for camp attendance.
Please fill out the form and have your student bring it to the ES office.

MS Chapel
The MS is excited that once-a-month MS Chapels kicked off this past Friday at 11:20 AM. David Brenneman was our guest speaker. He encouraged and challenged our students in their faith. Thank you, David!

The GCS Prefecture is organizing our HS See You at the Pole event, as our students join tens of thousands of other students from across our nation in starting the day by praying for our nation, our school, and one another.
This student-organized and student-led event will begin at 7:40 AM on Wednesday, September 28, and end in time to get to first-period classes. If you plan to come, it is recommended that you arrive by 7:30 AM.
Please direct questions to Titus Peltola (12th Grade).

The bonfire activity last Saturday was enjoyed by all. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the HS Prefecture for organizing the activity, Noah Avery's grandmother for allowing us to use her property, and Noah's parents for hosting us and building a very large bonfire!
Be looking for more information about the next Prefecture-organized activity coming in October
