In serving others, we not only help them find their voice but also strengthen our community. We have been blessed to help give a voice to those in need through the efforts of amazing podcasters, magazine writers and online platforms. We are truly grateful to everyone who supports our awareness and outreach efforts. Outreach and connection are vital in supporting mental health and fostering resilience. As Galatians 5:13 reminds us, "Through love serve one another." When we come together to listen, uplift and empower, we create a space where everyone can thrive. Let’s continue to be the voice of hope and healing—making a difference, one person at a time.

Warm regards,

Gabe & Ashley Onofre

Their passion for serving others and commitment to their residents is truly inspiring. One special moment was when a staff member’s adorable service dog joined her during the session—so sweet! GNC Community Wellness Strategy:

A Conversation with Oralia Acosta of Nutrilicious and Golden Nourish Collective

In our ongoing effort to promote health and wellness within our community, we are excited to highlight the inspiring work of Oralia Acosta, owner of Nutrilicious and the Golden Nourish Collective. Oralia’s approach is rooted in cultural diversity, practical nutrition and community engagement—bringing flavor, fun and wellness together in Texas City.

Tailoring Wellness to Our Community’s Needs

Oralia emphasizes meeting people where they are on their health journey. Her business offers cooking classes for families, wellness gatherings and simple, budget-friendly recipes utilizing ingredients accessible at local markets. With her rich knowledge of Middle Eastern spices and flavors, she introduces community members to exciting new tastes while respecting the diverse backgrounds of Texas City residents. Her goal is to make healthy eating practical, flavorful and culturally inclusive.

Programs Supporting Healthy Living

Through Nutrilicious and the Golden Nourish Collective, Oralia provides a variety of hands-on programs. These include seasonal cooking classes—covering gluten-free and Middle Eastern-inspired dishes—kitchen wellness consultations and pantry makeovers. She even organizes weekly trips to Central Market for those seeking unique ingredients. Monthly gatherings at her home explore topics like immune-boosting foods, meal prepping, and shopping smart on a budget. Additionally, she shares online cooking videos and nutrition tips, ensuring ongoing engagement beyond in-person events.

Success Stories and Community Impact

Many community members have benefited from Oralia’s guidance. She’s helped individuals resolve gastric issues through simple dietary swaps and has shown clients how to live gluten-free with tasty recipes. Pantry makeovers have inspired confidence and creativity in home cooks, while new spices and ingredients introduced at her events have expanded culinary horizons. Oralia also serves as a health advocate, connecting individuals with specialists when needed and supporting a holistic approach to wellness—addressing root causes and fostering lasting health improvements.

Collaborations for a Healthier Community

Oralia actively partners with local farmers markets, wellness groups and small businesses, hosting pop-up cooking demos and nutrition talks. Her involvement in networking groups like BRAG, BARN and the Chamber of Commerce helps build bridges between health, flavor and community. Her vision is to make wellness accessible, delicious, and enjoyable for everyone—working towards creating a “Blue Zone” in our area where health and happiness thrive.

Oralia Acosta’s work exemplifies how community-specific, culturally rich approaches can make a real difference in promoting wellness. By blending education, practical cooking, and community collaboration, she’s helping Texas City residents embrace healthier, flavorful lives—one meal at a time.
