Dear Founders,

What another moving service last Sunday! Thanks, Louis Ramirez, for "taking us back" to some old-time hymns for Hymnal Sunday. I've already read where people said that a certain song had truly touched their soul last Sunday.

As you know, many of us are away at our denomination's General/World Conference this weekend. Have no fear - church will still go on here at Founders! We're so blessed to have Rev. Eric Buter preaching and Peter Kirkpatrick in charge of the music this Sunday! Both of these saints are very capable and, more importantly, anointed! I look forward to hearing what the Spirit has laid on their hearts. Keep them in prayer as they stay tuned to hear what the Spirit speaks to them. Rev. Eric's sermon is entitled, Was Blind But Now I See. If you'd like to read ahead, check out I Timothy, 1:12-17 (New International Version).

I want to thank all who have stepped up to lead in worship in both services this Sunday, as well. Some of you are "pulling double duty" to lead in both services, and I so appreciate it. I also want to thank you who are at conference this week - many for the first time. At last count, there were 27 of us from Founders attending the conference in Scottsdale. I know we'll come back with lots of stories of exciting worship, new friendships, and fresh ideas for ministry here in Los Angeles!

In the meantime, please stay safe, remember our Angels program, and let's continue to look after one another.

Pastor Keith

Reading is taken from

First Timothy, Chapter 1,

Verses 12 through 17

(The New International Version)

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me trustworthy, appointing me to his service. Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.

Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. Now to the Sovereign eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

With the ICE, Homeland Security, and Border Patrol raids occurring so frequently here in Los Angeles, we at FMCC/ICMF realize the fear that many of our congregants have in leaving their homes. We are initializing an immediate ministry called, ANGELS. This ministry is for those who may be fearful of going to the grocery store, the pharmacy, and the department store and need to reach out to an ANGEL for help. It is also for people who may be willing to run these errands (for those too fearful to leave home currently) to let us know you're willing to BE an ANGEL. So, if you need an ANGEL, or if you're willing to be an ANGEL, please contact us at care@mccla.org and we'll match you up if at all possible.

If you have any pictures or videos of the FMVV/ICMF contingent that were taken during the recent weeks of the various Pride events, please submit them to pics@mccla.org. We would like to use them to create a celebration video that will become part of our history.

Change In Covid-19 Protocols

As we continue to cope with Covid-19, we are changing our protocols. The new protocols are in line with the rest of LA County. Until further notice, here are our guidelines:

1. We will no longer require vaccinations and boosters for church attendance, though we highly encourage them.
2. We will make wearing masks optional. Please feel free to continue wearing masks as you feel comfortable.

3. We ask people that have symptoms of (or tested positive for) Covid, flu, monkeypox, or any other easily communicable disease to please refrain from attending until they are well.

As we have from the very beginning of the pandemic, we will continue to keep in line with the advice of the LA County Public Health Department. Thank you so much for your patience as we navigate new guidelines.
