4th Quarter Report - August 2021 - Vol 1, Issue 3
Message from the Chair
Dear Community,

June 1, 2021 marked the end to my first year as Chair of this incredible department. So grateful to the faculty, staff, and trainees for embracing me. I think all of us can agree that this past year has shaped us in ways we never imagined. We made it through a very challenging year with the hope that the pandemic was behind us. When the world shut down, the needs and health of our patients did not. We continued to show up. Sadly, we now find ourselves almost back to the beginning with rising admissions for COVID-19 infection. Thankfully, we have more tools available with masking, testing, and most importantly, vaccination.

Our department’s values of competence, curiosity, and compassion have helped as well. We can’t possibly capture all our accomplishments in fulfilling our academic mission but here are some highlights of the last quarter along with breaking news.

Stay tuned for our Annual Report which will be released in the fall.
