HAGERSTOWN, MD (March 20, 2018) – Please join the Washington County Department of Business Development on March 21, 2018 as we celebrate the accomplishments from the Western Region of the Maryland Small Business Development Center. We will join this national celebration as a proclamation of the success of our nation’s dreamers, innovators and doers --America’s small business owners.

Herb Melrath is Washington County’s consultant for the Western Region of the Maryland SBDC . He had this to say about the local organization, “The Maryland SBDC – Western Region is dedicated to providing one-stop assistance to the area’s business community.  Locally we provide FREE individualized consulting, from start up to established businesses. We also offer comprehensive training programs, with most classes at low to no cost. We could not do this without the support of both Washington County and the City of Hagerstown.”

The goal of the Western Region of the Maryland SBDC is to aid in regional economic development by assisting small businesses in getting started and growing. Training classes are offered to teach small business owners what they need to become a successful business. Last year, the Western Region assisted in the closing of over $12 million dollars in local financing.
