Boos & Brews Fall Fundraiser
The Boos & Brews Fall Fundraiser last month was a success! We were able to raise $2,000 on top of all of the food and hygiene products donated to the United Way. Thanks to 1840 Brewing Company and everyone else who came out and supported this event. We're hoping to host another fundraiser next year!
What's New Washco Parks
Tiny Cabins
Five new tiny cabins are nearly complete at Glacier Hills and will be ready for rent starting May 1, 2022! All cabins sleep 2-4 people and include a private balcony with wooded or lake views and a fire pit with a grate for grilling. These cabins are also dog-friendly! Book your stay in our existing cabins below. The new cabins will be available on Airbnb soon.
Sled Shed
The new "Sled Shed" is arriving at Homestead Hollow County Park for everyone to enjoy this winter season! Built and donated by Girl Scout Troop #10258 from Amy Belle Elementary School. A huge thanks goes out to Bliffert Lumber & Hardware for donating the materials needed. Make sure to come and check out the hill this winter! Feel free to borrow and return a sled or donate one for others to enjoy.
Boardwalks
Thanks to Boy Scout Troop 271 out of Germantown, Homestead Hollow finally saw 600 feet of newly constructed Boardwalks on the black trail.
Agility Course
Girl Scout Troop 20099 out of Richfield designed a fantastic dog agility course at Homestead Howl and we celebrated with the first annual Hops & Hounds Fundraiser in support of the Washington County Humane Society.
PaddleBreak Adventures
This summer/fall season we partnered with Paddlebreak Adventures to offer affordable kayaks, paddleboards, and canoes to park patrons at Glacier Hills, Yahr, and Ackerman’s Grove. We look forward to continuing this partnership next season.
Mountain Bike Trails
Thanks to Metro Mountain Bikers and the 1,000+ volunteer labor hours at Heritage Trails, Phase 1 of the mountain bike project is complete. This phase included the construction of three trails with each trail accommodating a different skill level for riders ranging from beginner to advanced. An official grand opening of the park is scheduled for spring.
Additional Washington County Info
Tree Sponsorship Opportunity
Last summer, Washington County worked to expand the beach at Leonard J. Yahr County Park. This included planting 13 new trees throughout the park.

With the project now complete, the beach has grown from roughly 2,100 square feet to 10,200 square feet. Since the completion, The County is looking for tree sponsors to replace the trees that were removed during the expansion.

If you are interested in contributing to this project, the total cost per tree is $300. The 7 trees still available for sponsorship are Celebration Maples (1), Sienna Glen Maples (2), Hackberry Trees (1), and Red Oaks (3). Trees are approximately 4-8 ft. tall and include delivery, soil, a certificate and plaque representing your specific tree, and a map of the specified location.
