SI CHAMBER OF COMMERCE HOSTED ITS 123RD ANNUAL GALA

The Staten Island Chamber of Commerce held its 123rd Annual Gala last Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Celebrate at Snug Harbor, located at 1000 Richmond Terrace, Staten Island, NY 10301. The event was co-chaired by Cory Schifter of Casale Jewelers and Danielle V. Johnsen of Digital Edge.
Islanders urge city to address local issues at Charter Commission hearing
 
Linda Baran, the President and CEO of the Island's Chamber of Commerce, asked for the city to give boroughs more local control and ability to govern themselves to get more local projects off the ground.
‘Outrageous’ $17 Toll to Cross the Verrazano Vexes Drivers
 
On the other end of the bridge, Linda Baran, president of the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce, said she recently heard from an architect struggling to find workers willing to commute because of the tolls “and he’s not the only business that has mentioned it.”

“People hesitate to visit Staten Island because the tolls are so high,” she said. “It’s really frustrating when you see the East River bridges are free. I believe that everybody needs to give a little.”
