Volume XOX- June 20, 2022
Greetings,
I'm just back from from visiting my Mama and a profound study tour she treated us to in New Orleans which focused on the very unique and complicated history of that area from the Indigenous people, through French and Spanish and French again colonizations, institutionalized chattel slavery, Africans, Haitians, Free People of Color, Creoles, Cajuns, Italians, Irish, and as one guide said, "those damn Americans". And so much more. I'll be processing those five days and sharing as I can for a long time to come. The image here is a piece of Congo Square. Stepping on that sacred ground was deeply moving for me.

AND, it's time to start dancing again!
How sweet that June 21, Summer Solstice, will be our first day back at it.
You KNOW there will be some songs about sunshine.

Say yes to more!

This Live Oak in Congo Square has graced centuries of human and natural events.

To the wonder of roots and limbs and so many powerful stories.

Love to you,
