Waste Hauler Meeting February 5 at 6:30 pm
As you recall, the Fremont voters supported a single waste hauler by referendum. Fremont Township has gone out to bid and has negotiated a contract with Groot. The vote on the contract will be on Wednesday at 6:30 in the lower level of our building.

Note that this contract includes 6 weeks of leaf vacuum pick up, electronic recycling at your curb, one free item a week picked up and Christmas Tree pick up. There will be an increase each year from 2 to 4 percent based on the CPI.

AARP Tax Preparation Services at Fremont Library
Volunteer tax preparers from AARP will be available by appointment in the library to assist community members with their tax return. Call 847-566-8702 to register.
Free Hearing and Otoscope Exam at Fremont Township

Audibel Hearing Aid Center is offering a Free Hearing Screening and Otoscope Exam Event on Tuesday, April 14 from 10:00 am til 2 pm at lower level of the Fremont Township Administrative Building.

Rules of the Road Review Class at Fremont Township
APRIL 16 @ 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
The State of Illinois will again be holding a Rules of the Road Class at Fremont Township. The Rules of the Road Review Course is designed to give drivers – especially senior citizens and persons with disabilities – the knowledge and confidence needed to renew or obtain a driver’s license.
The review course combines an explanation of the driving exam with a practice written exam.

TOI Will Award Seven $2,000 Scholarships in 2020
Must be a graduating Illinois high school senior with a minimum GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale.

Must be a U.S. citizen and resident of Illinois. Must plan to attend a university/college in Illinois.

Must have a history of extracurricular activities that demonstrates a willingness to accept leadership responsibilities (student government, club officer, etc.) or a commitment to civic responsibility, social consciousness and a willingness to serve the community (community service projects, volunteer activities with local service agencies or charitable institutions, etc.)
Alleghany and Peterson Update
As you know Medline is building a 1,400,000 square foot building at Alleghany and Peterson. The work now being done is installing the water and sewer lines and digging detention and retention ponds. They are also cutting in the main entrance road.
Medline is hopeful to be in the facility by August of 2020.
You May Qualify for Discounted License Plates and Ride Free Transit Card
The Department of Aging has informed us effective 1/1/2020, the income limit eligibility for the License Plate discount and/or the Ride Free Transit Card has increased.
To qualify for the discount and/or ride free transit card, your total income last year must be less than
  • $33,562 for a 1 person household (yourself only); or
  • $44,533 for a 2 person household (yourself and your spouse, or yourself and one Qualified Additional Resident); or
  • $55,500 for a 3 person household (yourself, your spouse and one Qualified Additional Resident, or yourself and two Qualified Additional Residents).

What Identification Do I Need For Real ID?
REAL ID goes into effect on October 1, 2020.
For Illinois residents who fly domestically, effective Oct. 1 2020 the federal government will require you to use a valid U.S. passport or obtain a REAL ID from the Illinois Secretary of State’s office.

We accept diaper donations for children and adults. If you have diapers you are no longer in need of, please consider donating them to Fremont Township. We do accept open bags.
