Committee Catchup

What You Missed This Committee Season

BLC BRAC TREIC

The Education Standards Advisory Committee (ESAC) met on October 6, 2025, to welcome a new member, review upcoming technology improvements by the REALM Portal, and discuss legislative changes that grant TREC rulemaking authority over initial sales agent license education requirements.

The Broker Responsibility Advisory Committee (BRAC) met on October 15, 2025, and reviewed public comments about potential broker education and experience requirement changes and discussed concerns about transaction coordinators and how people fill out the Information About Brokerage Services form.

BRAC emphasizes that proper completion of this form is critical for consumer transparency. This means, if applicable, identifying a sales agent's licensed supervisor in the contact information section at the bottom of the form.

The Texas Real Estate Inspector Committee (TREIC) met October 13, 2025, to receive updates from its subcommittees, discuss the timing of coursework and license reciprocity between states. This was also TREIC Chair Lee Warren's (pictured above) last meeting after 13 years.

The Broker-Lawyer Committee (BLC) met October 10, 2025, and recognized new committee members, reviewed comments received about recent proposals, and decided to withdraw other possible changes for the committee to further consider.
