Join Nonprofit Finance Fund, New Jersey State Council on the Arts, and other nonprofit leaders for a webinar "Watch Party" series on key financial management concepts. Covering everything from cash flow planning to financial storytelling, this ten-part series is meant to give nonprofit arts leaders a comprehensive understanding of the techniques they need to run effective organizations for the long haul.

Each session will be a Watch Party where nonprofit leaders will come together virtually, watch the webinar together, and have the opportunity to ask NFF and NJSCA staff members questions following the session. Each session will be approximately 90 minutes, and will be held from November 15, 2023 through June 12, 2024.

We'll be opening up sign-ups for each session approximately one month in advance. Watch Party materials will be provided upon registration. Mark the below dates on your calendars and keep an eye out for registration links as they are sent out. Financial Planning Part 1

In order to plan effectively, nonprofit leaders must understand how their organization’s past income and expense dynamics influence its present and future finance picture. In Part 1, NFF will cover how to read income and profit/loss statements as well as how to assess an organization’s revenue and expense picture. Participants will learn key terms for forecasting revenue and expenses and best practices for budgeting for restricted revenue and one-time or episodic revenue and expenses.

Financial Planning Part 2



Participants will examine assets, liabilities, and net assets to better understand how each of these can influence key budgeting goals. NFF will review the components of a balance sheet (both audited and unaudited), help participants assess the liquidity of their organizations, and outline key budget practices for determining your nonprofit’s long-term needs.
