A new business association made up of both large and small businesses has formed in the City of Muskegon Heights. The association's intention is to build a thriving business community in this important core city.

Their focus right now is to promote the job opportunities available in Muskegon Heights and plan to work closely with city officials, the Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce and Muskegon Area First to advocate for better roads and new development.

The Community Foundation for Muskegon County is holding their 2019 Annual Gathering at the Frauenthal Center on November 13th to discuss inclusive competitiveness and how to build an economy in which we can all thrive.

The event features acclaimed speakers Dr. Jamie Bracey-Green and Mike Green. This is a free ticketed event and open to the community. Tickets can be picked up from the Frauenthal Box Office.

A report released by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and Travel Michigan found that tourism spending in Muskegon County increased by $14 million in 2018 creating a total of $327.3 million spent by visitors and tourists. Tourism and hospitality industries provided 3,193 direct and 4,715 indirect jobs in Muskegon County.
